Arise, O glorious Zion,
Thou joy of latter days,
Whom countless Saints rely on
To learn the Savior’s ways,
Arise and shine in splendor
Amid the world’s deep night,
For God, thy sure defender,
Is now thy life and light.

From Zion’s standard bearers
The gospel issues forth;
Their message to the hearer,
“Come gather all the earth!”
And Saints, that message bringing
To all the sons of men,
With the redeemed shall, singing
To Zion come again.

O hear their proclamation
And fly as on the skies!
For souls in every nation
Await God’s glorious prize.
Then, Zion, men shall hasten
To bow before their king;
And enemies who chasten
Will no displeasure bring.

Oh, grand, Eternal Father,
That we may faithful be,
And with the righteous gather,
And thy salvation see!
Then, with the hosts of heaven,
We’ll sing the immortal theme:
To him be glory given,
Whose blood did us redeem.
